What Is Crack Chicken Noodle Soup?
“Crack chicken” refers to the combination of chicken, cream cheese, ranch seasoning, cheddar cheese, and bacon — a mix that’s become popular in everything from dips to sandwiches. When added to soup, the result is a decadent comfort food with layers of flavor and just the right balance of creamy and savory.

Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

6 cups chicken broth

1 packet ranch seasoning mix (about 1 oz)

3 cups cooked, shredded chicken

6 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

6–8 ounces egg noodles

6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish

Directions
Sauté Aromatics:
In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until soft, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.

Add Broth & Seasoning:
Pour in the chicken broth and stir in the ranch seasoning. Bring to a gentle boil.

Add Chicken & Cream Cheese:
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the shredded chicken and chunks of cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and fully incorporated into the broth.

Cook the Noodles:
Add egg noodles and cook according to the package directions (usually about 7–8 minutes), stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
