Step 1: Mix Yeast and Milk
Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Step 3: Make the Dough
Add melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a dough forms, then knead for 5-10 minutes.
Step 4: Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about an hour until it has doubled in size.
Step 5: Cut Out the Donuts
Roll out the dough to about 1.5 cm thickness and use a donut cutter to cut out the donuts. Let the donuts rise for another 30 minutes.
Step 6: Fry the Donuts
Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry the donuts until golden brown. Let them drain on paper towels and dust with sugar or glaze as desired.
