Ingredients:
1 cup tapioca starch (plus more for dusting)
½ cup boiling water
Brown sugar or black sugar (for syrup)
Instructions:
Mix: Pour the boiling water into the tapioca starch gradually, stirring quickly until a dough forms.
Knead: Once it’s cool enough to handle, knead into a smooth, pliable dough.
Roll: Cut into small pieces and roll into marble-sized balls.
Boil: Cook the pearls in boiling water for about 15-20 minutes, then let them sit covered for another 15 minutes.
Sweeten: Rinse, then soak them in a brown sugar syrup to finish.
So, next time you find something strange in your bed, don’t immediately assume the worst. Sometimes, it’s just a rogue tapioca pearl living its best life outside the cup.
But still… maybe double check before lying down.
