SLICED BAKED POTATOES RECIPE!!!
Crispy, Buttery, and Bursting with Flavor – Your New Favorite Side Dish!
When you think of comfort food, a baked potato probably comes to mind. But what if you could take that classic — and turn it into something even more crave-worthy? That’s exactly what this Sliced Baked Potatoes Recipe does.
Golden on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside, and bursting with flavor in every crispy-edged slice, these potatoes are simple to make but impressive on the table. Whether you’re serving them as a side dish for dinner, holiday meal, or casual weekend cookout, they’re guaranteed to steal the spotlight.
What Are Sliced Baked Potatoes?
Think of them as the best parts of roasted potatoes, baked potatoes, and potato chips — all in one. Thin slices are cut into a whole potato, accordion-style, then seasoned and baked until the edges turn crispy and the insides stay tender. This style is sometimes called a Hasselback potato, but this version is easier and super adaptable.
Ingredients
4 medium russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
2–3 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Optional toppings: shredded cheese, chopped herbs, bacon bits, sour cream, green onions
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Wash and dry the potatoes thoroughly.
2. Slice the Potatoes
Place each potato between two wooden spoons or chopsticks to prevent cutting all the way through. Slice thinly (about ⅛ to ¼ inch thick) across the width of each potato, stopping before the knife reaches the bottom.
3. Season & Drizzle
Place the sliced potatoes on a baking sheet. Gently fan out the slices, brush with olive oil or melted butter, and sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Make sure some seasoning gets between the slices!
4. Bake to Perfection
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown on the edges and tender in the center. Brush once more with butter or oil halfway through for extra crispiness.
5. Add Toppings (Optional but Highly Recommended!)
Sprinkle cheese in the last 5–10 minutes of baking, or top with bacon, herbs, or sour cream after baking. Serve warm and watch them disappear.
