👩‍🍳 How to Make Cherry Bars
Step 1: Prep the Pan
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Step 2: Make the Dough
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla and almond extracts. Gradually mix in flour and salt until fully combined.
Step 3: Assemble the Bars
Spread about 2/3 of the dough into the prepared pan. Evenly spoon the cherry pie filling over the dough. Drop the remaining dough by spoonfuls over the top—no need to cover the filling completely.
Step 4: Bake
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out mostly clean (watch the center!). Let cool completely before glazing.
