Home-made pizza without yeast: the recipe light, easy and fast

Homemade Pizza Without Yeast: A Light, Easy & Fast Recipe for Busy Days

When the pizza craving hits, but you’re short on time—or fresh out of yeast—you don’t have to settle for delivery or frozen options. Enter: homemade pizza without yeast. This light, easy, and fast recipe brings you all the satisfaction of pizza night with a fraction of the effort, and no proofing time required.

Whether you’re avoiding yeast for dietary reasons, forgot to buy it, or simply want a quick alternative, this no-yeast pizza dough will become your new go-to. Ready in under 30 minutes from start to finish, it’s perfect for weeknight dinners, last-minute lunches, or even a fun activity with kids.

Why No Yeast?

Traditional pizza dough requires yeast, which needs time to rise. But sometimes, we don’t have the luxury of waiting an hour (or more) for dough to proof. This no-yeast version skips the rising time entirely, using baking powder as a leavening agent instead. The result is a slightly different texture—softer and more biscuit-like—but still absolutely delicious.

Ingredients for No-Yeast Pizza Dough

You’ll need just a few pantry staples:

2 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup water

1 tablespoon olive oil

Optional Toppings (Choose Your Favorites!)

Tomato sauce or pesto

Shredded mozzarella

Sliced tomatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions

Pepperoni, ham, cooked chicken

Fresh basil or arugula

A drizzle of olive oil or balsamic glaze

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 425°F (220°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.

2. Make the dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add water and olive oil. Stir with a spoon or your hands until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 2–3 minutes until smooth.

3. Roll it out:
Divide the dough in half for two thin crusts or keep it whole for one thick crust. Roll out into your desired shape and thickness (about 1/4 inch works well).

4. Add toppings:
Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or preheated stone. Add your sauce, cheese, and toppings.

5. Bake:
Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. Serve and enjoy:
Let it cool slightly, slice, and enjoy your homemade, yeast-free pizza!
